The idea for fixito came about during the fall of 2002 when the founder of Fixito, Neil Durbin, was living in a small basement apartment in Wilmington, Delaware. During that time, whenever it would rain, a spot on the ceiling would begin to drip. When the driping turned into a downpour, he called the emergency number his apartment complex had given him. Their response? "Get a bucket and we'll send someone out sometime in the next day or two."
